A lamp holder is the electrical part that connects the bulb to power. It holds the bulb securely and lets electricity flow safely to light it up.

The most common types are E27, E14, G4, G9, and GU10. In Europe, E27 and E14 are the most widely used. In USA, E26 and E12 are the most widely used.

They’re usually made of brass or copper and come in different sizes for different bulbs — from home lamps to commercial lighting systems.

### 🪙 How to Identify Your Socket

You can easily guess your socket type by size:

-   A **large coin** (≈ 27 mm, like a US quarter) → E26 / E27
-   A **small coin** (≈ 14–17 mm, like a dime) → E12 / E14

Never touch or measure the socket while it’s connected to electricity. Always compare visually and safely.

### 💡 How to Choose the Right LED Bulb

**1\. Socket Type:** Make sure the bulb matches your fixture’s socket (E27, E14, E26, etc.).

**2\. Color Temperature (Kelvin):**  
Kelvin (K) shows the color of the light:

-   2700–3000 K → Warm white (relaxing, cozy light)
-   4000 K → Neutral white (balanced for everyday use)
-   6500 K → Cool white (bright daylight look, ideal for offices)

**3\. Brightness (Lumens):** Lumens show how bright the bulb is — not watts. The higher the lumens, the brighter the light. Example: 800 lumens ≈ old 60W incandescent bulb .
